Simon Law
I was bitten by the theatre bug aged 12 when I played Noah in the play Noah’s Ark at Dannevirke South School. It has been a constant in my life ever since and I have been involved in over 100 theatre productions since! Both on stage, off stage and backstage, you simply can’t beat being in a theatre!
I spent my formative years acting at Dannevirke Little Theatre (now The Dannevirke Fountain Theatre) and have performed at theatre’s in Palmerston North, New Plymouth and Christchurch. Over the past 15 years I was heavily involved with both Waipukurau Little Theatre & Waipawa M&D.
Ten years ago I was encouraged to move into directing by my great friend Terry Coyle which has seen me direct for both Waipukurau Little Theatre, Waipawa M&D and Napier Repertory.
I have loved tackling Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None”. It is such a well constructed play with plenty of twists and turns and so beautifully written. During the Christmas break in rehearsals I travelled to England and spent time in Torquay researching Agatha and her life. I also made the trip to Burgh Island on the South Coast of Devon which was the inspiration for Soldier Island in this play.
This play is my dedication to the Ambler family for all their support during this production.
